Introduction of BS Computer Science (BSCS)

BS Computer Science (BSCS) is a professional undergraduate degree program designed to educate and train individuals in the principles and practices of computing and software development. The BSCS program typically spans a period of four years and is pursued after completing prerequisite science or computer science subjects. During this period, students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical learning, programming skills, and practical projects. The curriculum includes subjects like programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, database systems, software engineering, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and web development. Students gain expertise in designing software applications, solving computational problems, and working with modern technologies.

Practical training and project work are essential parts of the BSCS program. Students work on individual and team projects, internships, and real-world software solutions, which help them apply classroom knowledge, improve problem-solving abilities, and prepare for professional careers in IT and software industries.

History of Computer Science (BSCS)

Computer science emerged as a discipline in the mid-20th century with the invention of electronic computers. Eligibility

The candidate must have passed the Intermediate (F.Sc. Pre-Engineering/ICS/General Science) Examination with at least 50% marks from any Pakistani Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or from a foreign institution recognized as equivalent to Pakistan’s Intermediate qualification.

Documents required for admission in BSCS at RIMS

RIMS Application form.
Educational Documents Matric and F.Sc ( A and O level students should submit equivalence certificate from IBCC).
Six Passport Size Photographs.
Six Copies of CNIC/Form-B of the applicant.
Six copies of Domicile.
All student who completed their education from Federal board or other provincial board rather than Punjab should submit NOC from relevant board.
